Comprehensive Lipid Panel
An expanded cholesterol panel that goes beyond the standard lipid test, adding VLDL cholesterol and apolipoproteins A1 and B for a more detailed look at cardiovascular risk. It's often used when standard cholesterol results need a closer look, or for a more complete picture of heart disease risk.

About This Test
This panel expands on a standard lipid test by adding VLDL cholesterol and two apolipoproteins, ApoA1 and ApoB, alongside total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, and calculated LDL. ApoB reflects the number of cholesterol-carrying particles in your blood, while ApoA1 reflects HDL particle content. Together, they can offer a more detailed picture of cardiovascular risk than standard cholesterol numbers alone. This test is often ordered when a closer look at heart disease risk is needed, or alongside a standard lipid panel for a more complete result.
