Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about appointments, results, and visiting our laboratory.
Appointments & Scheduling
Appointments are recommended to minimize your wait time, but walk-ins may be accepted depending on availability. Contact us to confirm before you visit.
Many of our wellness and screening tests don't require one, so you can order those directly. Tests that do require a physician order will say so on their test page.
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule so we can offer that time to another patient. We don’t charge a fee for cancellations, rescheduling, or missed appointments. For Direct-to-Consumer tests, purchases are fully refundable if canceled before your sample is collected; once collected, the test is non-refundable except where it can’t be processed due to an error on our part, in which case we’ll recollect your sample at no charge. Full details are in our Terms of Use.
Insurance & Billing
Direct-to-Consumer tests are self-pay and are not billed to insurance. Pricing is available before you schedule, so you'll know the cost upfront. If you have questions about insurance coverage for other types of laboratory testing or physician-ordered tests, please contact us and we'll be happy to help clarify your options.
We accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as HSA and FSA cards for eligible expenses. If you have questions about payment or billing before your appointment, please contact us and we'll be happy to help.
Results
Most tests are completed in less than one business day since we process everything in our own laboratory. The expected turnaround is listed on each test's page.
Results are available through our secure patient portal, linked at the top of every page.
Results should be reviewed with a qualified healthcare provider, who can help interpret them in the context of your health history and advise on next steps.
Preparing for Your Visit
Preparation depends on the specific test. Some require fasting or other steps beforehand. Preparation instructions are listed on each test's page, or you can contact us directly.
Please bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card (if applicable), and any physician order or requisition form you were given.
Many laboratory tests can be performed for children, but availability depends on the specific test and the child's age. Please contact us before scheduling so we can confirm the appropriate testing and explain any age-specific requirements or consent needed for your visit.
